Director Pastoral Care
Position Opportunities
• Lead the Pastoral Care/CPE department as it contributes to shaping organizational culture and models identity
• Develop and set department's vision
• Develop and manage department's long and short-term business strategies
• Manage departmental staff and foster a sense of community
• Develop and manage the department's operational budget
• Participate on hospital committees as appropriate
Measures of Success
• Pastoral Care/CPE team is cohesive
• Pastoral Care/CPE team has and supports the department's vision and direction
• Pastoral Care/CPE team has strengthened relationships with other departments
Skill Set
• Master's Degree in Divinity, Theology or a related discipline
• Certified Chaplain with NACC and/or APC
• Completed four (4) units of CPE (preferred)
• Five or more years' experience as the Manager Pastoral Care and/or a CPE Program
• Knowledgeable in the traditions of the Church (i.e. scripture, theology and ERDs).
Manager, Clinical Pastoral Education
Position Opportunities
• Develop, coordinate and lead hospital's CPE Program
• Develop and manage an intentional supervisory development effort
• Review, revise and install an innovative student curriculum
• Develop and implement program marketing and recruitment strategies
• Facilitate a further integration of CPE Supervisors and students on to the patient care team
• Serve as a member of the Pastoral Care leadership team
• Participate on hospital committees as appropriate
Measures of Success
• Manager and CPE Supervisors are more visible on the floors
• CPE curriculum has undergone significant and meaningful revision
• CPE and Pastoral Care staffs are seen as ever more vital members of the patient care team
Skill Set
• Master's Degree in Divinity or a related discipline
• Certification as a Full Supervisor with ACPE
• Ordained with Ecclesiastical endorsement in respective denomination
• Three or more years' experience as the Manager of a CPE Program
• Knowledgeable in the traditions of the Church (i.e. scripture, theology and ERDs)
Coordinator Clinical Pastoral Education
Position Opportunities
• Coordinate and lead hospital's CPE Program
• Manage hospital's first ACPE accreditation process and site review
• Review and revise student curriculum
• Develop and implement program marketing and recruitment strategies
• Strengthen and expand the Professional Consultation Committee
• Serve as a member of the Chaplaincy Department staff
• Participate on hospital committees as requested
Measures of Success
• Accredited by ACPE
• Functioned as a member of leadership team that asks, "How can I help?"
Skill Set
• Master's Degree in Theology or a related discipline
• Certification as a Full or Associate Supervisor with ACPE
• Ordained with Ecclesiastical endorsement in respective denomination
• One or more years' experience as a CPE Supervisor
• Genuine enthusiasm for building a CPE program
• Knowledgeable in the traditions of the Church (i.e. scripture, theology and ERDs)
CPE Supervisor/Chaplain
Position Opportunities
• Assist with the CPE Program and Clinical Supervision
• Lead CPE didactics and seminars (e.g. religious directives)
• Collaborate with the Director of Chaplain Services to insure a unified Chaplaincy/CPE Service
• Contribute, as faculty, to professional chaplaincy seminars
• Serve as the hospital's designated Catholic Chaplain
• Serve on institutional committees as appropriate (e.g. Mission Awareness)
• Strengthen local and regional parish relationships
Measures of Success
• Level II and SES training is being offered
• Local diocese are referring seminarians for CPE
• CPE type programs are being offered to Community Clergy
• Department is a living example of a collegial culture
• Department is a living example of diversity awareness
Skill Set
• Master's Degree in Theology or a related discipline
• Prefer certification as a Full/Associate Supervisor with ACPE
• NACC Certified Chaplain
• Endorsement/Affiliation with respective Diocese
• One or more years' experience as a Chaplain and/or CPE Supervisor
